The "school wall" for showing off the latest projects. This way the day we learned about purple. It's interesting noting the girls' different creative styles. Miriam is so methodic in her creations, while Katie is more willing to experiment.


This was from Sept. 12, the feast of the Holy Name of Mary. I ran out of blue icing. :(
It was fun to make this cake -- it was the first time I had ever made a cake from scratch. I realize now why all women of a certain generation owned hand mixers. After 30 minutes of beating butter, then butter & sugar, then egg yolks, then egg whites, I began to lose some of my scorn for those who owned kitchen mixers! :)
