Dear Father in Heaven, we thank You for this great gift You have given us. That which awakens us in the morning and sets our course for the day is a great mercy to the teeming masses of mothers and fathers who strive to serve You at home and at work. As it was first found by the heathen we see that You shower Your blessings upon all and are generous with Your gifts. As we drink we strive to remember Your generosity to us in our time of need, especially in the morning, and pray we may be generous with others as You have been generous to us.
Help us truly to give thanks for this great drink, and as we add our milk and sugar may we remember that You have brought a light to the darkness of this world and have brought us true sweetness in our Mother the Church. May we always remember Your goodness and mercy towards us, and that without You we have nothing—only the dark dishwater that is Lipton Tea. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
